The Word of God acts like a sharp sword which pierces through the heart to identify the real person. He alone sees the secrets of the hearts of men.
One critical quality of the Bible, which confirms its hallowed status as the inspired and written word of God, is its capacity to pierce through every veneer of self-righteousness to identify the real person underneath the polished surface. This is necessary to bring man from conviction of sin to righteousness and judgment! The process of sanctification is vital for us to stay fresh in Him.

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? 10. I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.
Ecclesiastes 9:3

Hebrews 4:12-13
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. 13 Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in His sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of Him with whom we have to do.
Matthew 13:15
For this people’s heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
Mark 7:21-23
For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, 22. Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: 23. All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.

May the Word of God become Flesh in us, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
